For us, mornings always consist of a good cup of coffee. Most of you can probably say the exact same thing. But did you ever take a minute to think about the effect that morning coffee has on your body? Is coffee really all it’s cracked up to be? Well, we did and we’re here to give you guys the lowdown! Now, before we go any further we must say that we always start our mornings off with a big glass of water, preferably with lemon. We even wrote about the benefits of lemon water on the blog. This helps flush our bodies and prepare us for the day. After our water, we’re ready for breakfast and coffee. Aside from the actual health benefits of coffee, we actually enjoy the experience of drinking our morning joe. It is so relaxing to start our day with each other while sipping our coffee. Can you guys relate? It’s actually one of our favorite times of the day. We get to relax on the couch, watch the Today show (we love Kathie Lee and Hoda), and slowly wake up together. For us, drinking coffee is an experience. On the flip side of that, if we aren’t together in the morning, drinking our coffee is the perfect me time. It allows us to take some time to think about our day and work out anything on our minds. It’s important to give yourself that alone time. See what we mean? Coffee is more than just this black magical liquid that gives you energy— it’s the real deal.

There are a ton of benefits of coffee but let us be clear, we are not talking about that guzzler cup of coffee with cream and 5 scoops of sugar. NO WAY. That is NOT healthy. We are talking about a cup of coffee with a splash of almond or coconut milk (our go-to creamers). Also, coffee is only good for you in moderation. We try to never drink more than two cups per day. You don’t want to overstimulate your body. We want to make sure you guys know that this list applies to people that drink coffee in moderation. Believe us, we know that some days require that extra cup or two. Sometimes more often than not. But just remember that your body shouldn’t have too much caffeine. After you hit that third and fourth cup of coffee, you can start to feel shaky and uneasy. Yes, coffee can have adverse affects on your body. One, in particular, coffee is very dehydrating. We always have a glass of water on hand when we are drinking our coffee. Be sure you know your body’s limits and keep your daily cups of joe to a minimum.
