dining room makeover part 2

By now, you’ve hopefully read part 1 of our dining room makeover. We’ve been working with BoConcept to give our dining room a bit of a refresh. Since moving into our new space, we’ve realized we needed to mature the dining room. Not that we thought the old table wasn’t good enough, we just felt like it was time to step it up a bit. We started by visiting the BoConcept showroom in Center City to decide what would work best for our space. We told you guys that we did make our selections BUT we aren’t sharing them until the space is complete. We know, we’re mean! But we want to surprise you guys with the end result. In case you need a quick refresher, we were originally going to go with a rectangular table. After talking to Jill and looking at our space, we decided that round would be a much better shape. We have so many sharp edges in our dining room already. By adding something circular, we’re breaking up the space and making it a bit softer.

The next step was the in-home measurements with Jill (reminder: the master stylist helping us design the space). Remember when we said it’s important to have a professional on hand — this is that moment. After your in-store consultation, the master stylist comes to your house to make sure everything fits perfectly. That’s one of the things we love about BoConcept. All of the furniture is customizable — which means you can make anything work for your space. Jill knows how the furniture will fit into a specific space. She took a few measurements to make sure the table we selected would fit perfectly. Spoiler: it’s a match made in heaven! She also brought samples of the dining room table and chairs — this was super helpful! We were able to see how all of the colors would go together. Luckily, everything went smoothly and we were able to move onto the final step — placing the order. The chairs were in stock at the store but the table needs to be built and shipped from Denmark. Now starts the fun part…waiting! While we wait for everything to arrive, we’ve been searching for art pieces to hang on the wall. We’re actually thinking about adding a vertical mirror to one of the walls. We don’t have a window in the dining room. By adding a mirror, it will reflect the light from the living room and make the room feel much bigger. That means we’re on the hunt for the perfect mirror. We’ll keep you guys posted on what we find. Be sure you’re following us on Instagram to see more! We’ll be sharing the final dining room refresh with you guys in a just a few weeks. Stay tuned!
