The holiday weekend is over and it’s back to reality. UGH. Regardless, we are so excited to bring you guys some awesome new content. Aside from our love for fashion, health and skin care, we also LOVE interior design. If you’ve been following us on Instagram (you totally should), then you know that we recently moved into a new house. Let’s just say this has been quite the transition. We went from a small, one bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house. THAT’S A LOT OF DECORATING. Our first task was the bedroom. Since it’s the place we sleep, we needed to get that room done first. Now, we are nowhere near finished with everything. We thought about waiting to show you guys until a bit later but decided we wanted to take you on this journey with us.

For starters, we didn’t have to purchase a new bed. Luckily, we had found a great deal on a padded, studded bed frame when we first moved to the city. It’s one of our favorite pieces in the room. Our area rug is from IKEA. We had originally purchased it for our living room but decided it would look great under our bed. The next task was finding the perfect side tables. This wasn’t the easiest for us because we are super picky. We had originally planned on finding side tables with drawers for storage but decided we wanted a more minimal look. Target to the rescue! These copper, hourglass tables were exactly what we were looking for. Simple and clean. We topped the tables with lamps from Home Goods, aka our playground. We love anything with marble and these lamps had just the right amount. Score!

Our dresser, which will hold our TV soon enough, was not always white. It was a green color and had a design painted all over. We decided to sand it down and paint it white. This kept the room bright and clean. Of course, we added details on top to keep our design consistent.

One thing we love about our bedroom is the amount of natural light. Since our bed is flanked by windows, the room is so bright. That’s why we haven’t decided on curtains just yet. We will definitely find the right ones soon, though we aren’t in a rush. We added a huge standing mirror and a banana tree. Of course, we couldn’t forget Toby’s bed. Wall art is our next task in the bedroom. Stay tuned as we work on that. Overall, designing our bedroom has been great so far. We’ve loved just having the space to decorate in the first place. That’s a plus in itself.

Designing a new space can be challenging. Size constraints, budget, differences in opinion, it can seem daunting at first. That’s why it’s so important to make a plan and be patient. You aren’t going to find everything you want at first. Shop around and find the best deals. You can find some great pieces in the clearance section. We searched and searched until we found the right pieces at the right price. That’s the best part. It’s like a game with the prize being a beautiful space.

Hopefully, you guys like seeing our new space. We are going to bring you more design content soon. Let us know if you have any suggestions! We have some fun ideas in mind so stay tuned! Until next time…

Love the decor! Are you guys creating a spending budget for each room. I know Home Goods is also my go to but are there any places you find that have really good prices?

Thank you so much! Yes, we definitely have a budget and stick to it pretty well. Home Goods has great stuff! We also love Target, Marshalls and IKEA. You can also find some great deals at department stores and West Elm. We try to be patient when we shop so we make sure we find the best deals!!
