HOW TO ADD GREENERY TO YOUR HOME

As most of you already know, we love plants. We like to think of ourselves as #PlantDads. Though, we are still learning the whole parenting thing. We can’t seem to keep our palm plant alive but we keep trying! Other than that, we think we are doing a pretty good job! We love plants for so many reasons. Mainly, we love plants because they literally add so much life to our home. Adding greenery to your home is one of the easiest ways to spruce things up. The inside environment is instantly transformed. It goes from the drab, regular interior to an oasis in minutes. There’s something about seeing green. Even our friends notice when they come over to visit. It just makes us happier. Okay, maybe we are all crazy but some of you have to agree! We’ve been slowly adding plants to our home over the last few months. Our staple plant is the palm that lives right beside the bar cart. It’s massive and is the perfect statement piece. That’s our first suggestion. Find a statement plant that will anchor your main living space. If you have enough room, get two! This will help add drama and dimension to any space. Whether it be in the corner of your living room or in a transitional space, like our palm. We also added a palm to our bedroom. That made a huge difference! The space was instantly transformed into a bright oasis. Shouldn’t that be the way you describe your bedroom?! The next plant that will join the family is a fiddle-leaf fig. If you don’t know what that is, look it up! It’s the cutest plant!

Our next step was to add smaller plants throughout the house. We started by finding pots that matched our aesthetic. We found most of the pots at Target and Home Goods. You guys know our obsession with both of those stores! We wanted the plants to fit in and not stand out. Basically, we wanted everything to flow and look as if it was part of the original design. For the types of plants, we chose a vast array. We love succulents so that was our first choice. We also found a few others. From short to tall, we tried to choose a mix of plants. This helped add extra dimension and height to the overall space. Though we are still adding things here and there, we are so happy with all of the greenery so far. We highly suggest trying to add at least one plant to your space. You’ll be surprised at the difference it will make!
