Hydration is key during the winter months. With the change in temperature, your skin becomes super dehydrated and needs a ton of extra love. We can’t stress this enough. If you don’t want to be stressing about your skin during this time of year, take care of it! We’ve got a few tips for you.

MOISTURIZE. We’ve always told you that using a moisturizer is important. But during the winter, you can’t mess around. Your skin is begging for this and you need to give it a good one. If you aren’t normally into thick moisturizers, try again during the winter. You’ll be surprised at how much your skin absorbs. Lately, we’ve been loving the Better Daze Ahead by Farmacy. It’s thick and leaves our skin feeling so soft. It also has CBD as an ingredient so it soothes and calms any irritation.

HYALURONIC ACID. This is a big one. If you aren’t familiar with this acid, it’s a total game-changer. It holds a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in your skin but also prevent all that moisture from evaporating into the air. After just one use, your skin immediately feels hydrated. We swear by The Ordinary when it comes to Hyaluronic Acid. Plus, it’s less than $7!!

DRINK MORE WATER. This seems like a no-brainer but we all are guilty of not drinking enough water. Though it truly does make the biggest difference in your skin. Do whatever it takes to remind yourself to drink more water during the winter. Your skin is craving hydration from the inside out. Buy yourself a large reusable bottle and keep it sitting out at all times. Set reminders on your phone. Basically, do whatever it takes.

EXFOLIATE. This is one of those steps that gets overlooked. But this really does make a huge difference in the winter. You need to be exfoliating twice a week. This will get rid of those dead skin cells and increase cell turnover. Think of it as giving your skin a reset. It helps ensure your skin can absorb all of the moisture you are trying to give it.

OILS. We talk about facial oils all of the time so this shouldn’t be new to you. But in case it is, we can’t stress it enough. Using an oil is key to your skin care routine. It not only combats oil production but also seals in moisture. You should be using an oil both day and night, especially during the winter. Try something light in the morning and mix it in with your moisturizer. Just a few drops will go a long way. At night, we really lather it on. We’re all about going to bed all greased up because we know how good our skin is going to feel in the morning.

FACIAL MIST. You’ve probably used a facial mist before. During the winter, it’s really helpful to carry one with you throughout the day. Every few hours, give yourself a spritz. It gives your skin a little boost during the day. Think of it as giving your skin a glass of water. It’s a really good way to maintain hydration during the cold months.

HYDRATING MASKS. We’re no strangers to using masks. Hello, #MaskMonday! We tend to step things up though during the winter. Since the cold is constantly stripping us of moisture, using a mask can help balance things out. Try to add in a mask 3-4 days a week. Make it a priority and you will absolutely see results.
