If you’ve followed along on Instagram or TikTok, you’ll know we have been working on a two-part surprise makeover series at Alex’s parents’ home. First up, we tackled their living room. We have a reveal video linked here if you want to check that out. We planned on working on this project quickly after the living room but scheduling conflicts pushed it back. Finally, after weeks of waiting, we were able to get in there and transform the space!
This room needed a lot of love. We wanted it to feel warm, cozy, and inviting the moment you stepped through the door. To achieve this, we painted the entire room, including the ceiling and closet, dark chocolate. We are beyond obsessed with how it turned out. The color was a perfect choice and Alex’s parents were so happy with the results. For the decor, bedding, and furniture, we wanted a neutral, monochrome feel. We also did another DIY plaster project for the artwork. We’ve talked about our love for plaster so many times and it isn’t stopping anytime soon. Our favorite part of the room has to be the faux plaster fireplace tv stand. We knew this would be a great way to bring in warmth and functionality. We’re really impressed with the heat it puts out too. Perfect for those chilly nights.
