Gut health is something we take pretty seriously. Probably because Mike has had so many stomach issues in the past. Ever since he figured out that he was allergic to gluten, digestive health has been top of mind. It’s also just important in general. Over the years, we’ve realized not everyone thinks about this as much as we do. We should all be thinking about what we are putting into our bodies and how it’s affecting us.
The first thing we do to help with our gut health is to drink kombucha. We’ve been drinking this for years and it’s totally changed our bodies. If you are totally unfamiliar with this drink, though that’s hard to imagine, it’s okay. Kombucha is just fermented tea. It’s full of probiotics, which help keep your gut healthy. It comes in a ton of different flavors so there’s something out there for everyone. We’ve made it a habit to drink kombucha (booch for short) several times a week. It’s been a good addition to our daily routine.
Eating greens is another really good way to keep your gut in check. Green juice, kale, and spinach to name a few. We always try to incorporate these into our daily diet. If you don’t like veggies, make a smoothie and cover up the taste. It doesn’t matter how you get them, it’s just important that you do.
Daily vitamins and supplements are another important part of our routine. We’ve been trying out the Gut Connection line by Country Life. The really cool thing about these supplements is the variety. There are 8 different formulas that balance your gut while also working on other parts of your body. We’ve been especially into the Cognitive and Digestive Balance formulas. It’s a no-brainer why Mike likes the Digestive Balance — thanks gluten-free stomach. Though both have been really helpful for us. We’re all about adding things into our routine that work on multiple parts of our body. Gotta keep our minds sharp!
We’re excited to keep you posted on our progress. We will update you soon! Until next time…
How did you realize you were allergic to gluten? What were some of the symptoms? I’ve been trying to pin point several different foods that may be affecting my health. I’ve been keeping a journal of how I feel after I eat certain things.
Thanks for always posting such great and relatable content.
