Grocery shopping is a weekly thing for us. We go to the store at the beginning of the week to pick up the staples. We do run out a few other times during the week if we’re looking to make something special or need some other things. But this is the trip we use to get ready for the week. It’s become our Tuesday ritual since Mike works Saturday through Sunday. It’s actually something we really look forward to doing. After not seeing each other for a few days, we take this as an opportunity to spend some time together. Once Mike wakes up after sleeping post-night shift, we spend the evening running errands and stocking the kitchen.
To be honest, we make some variation of the same meals each week. We obviously switch things up here and there. But it’s much easier when we have the staples in the kitchen so we know we have certain meals on hand. If we’re feeling creative, we’ll grab a few other things but always stick to these staples. What’s on your “staples” list??
